Local 917 would like to welcome our new members from Local 210 and Local 819 and to welcome on board our new PCAA/Avistar (LGA), cashiers, attendents, and shuttle bus drivers and Iberia, the road marking painters , members from our latest organizing campagnes. Together we can all make a difference. Strengh in numbers, and growing.     

While there are many reasons to have our own site, the goal is to use the power of the Internet to keep our members up-to-date on important union news, and to communicate, connect, inspire, teach and inform. Always know your member-rights as well as your responsibilities.Your first and best source for information is your Shop Steward.

Know your Weingarten Rights-(printable version)-"If this discussion could in anyway lead to my being disciplined or terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I request that my union representative, officer, or steward be present at the meeting. Without representation, I choose not to answer any questions." This is your right under a U.S. Supreme Court decision.

Teamsters Local 917 is an affiliate of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and is chartered by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters to cover:  Automobile Mechanics & Helpers, Gasoline Station & Parking Attendants & Cashiers, Automotive Transporters & Inland Warehouse, Automobile & Truck Sales Persons, and Clerical Sales Employees, All Employees, drivers and helpers, in Express Trucking, Meats, Fats, Oil, Liquor and Commissary.
